Roadmap
What we are working on for Substrike, grouped into now, next and later.
This is a plan, not a promise. Nothing here has a date, and any of it can change without notice. Vote on what matters to you and suggest your own ideas in #roadmap-and-polls on the Substrike Discord, where we also post when the plan changes.
Now, for 1.0
Planned before 1.0.
Planned
Licence and trial
Checkout through Paddle, a 7-day trial, and a licence for up to 2 of your own PCs.
Planned
Export, Advanced options
Choose your own video codec (H.264, HEVC or AV1), quality and audio codec (AAC or Opus), and save the combination as your own preset.
Planned
Accuracy on noisy voice chat
Work on quiet gaps and dropped words in noisy game voice chat.
Planned
Your voice track for highlights too
Captions can already use your own voice track from OBS multi-track audio. Next, the highlights finder listens to that same track.
Planned
Recording setup guide
A guide to setting up your recorder: OBS first, plus Steam, NVIDIA and AMD.
Planned
Code signing
Sign the Windows installer so it is trusted, instead of showing a SmartScreen warning.
Next, after launch
Planned for after 1.0 ships.
Planned
Discord call recorder
Record your Discord call with your own bot, one track per friend, running on your own PC. Opt-in, and it announces itself so everyone on the call knows.
Planned
Steam recordings
Read Steam game recordings directly, instead of exporting clips first.
Planned
Post finished clips to YouTube from inside Substrike.
Planned
More caption languages
Add more caption languages beyond what is in beta today.
Later
Planned, further out and less certain.
Planned
macOS version
A version of Substrike for Mac.
Planned
Phone companion
Send a finished clip to your phone to post from there.
