Draft preview: not yet available for purchase

Refund policy

Written for an Australian seller. Our merchant of record's own terms also apply to how a refund is actually processed. Items in [square brackets] are placeholders still to be filled in.

Seller: Christian Murphy, ABN 34 213 253 985, support@substrike.com.au (mailbox being set up).

Our promise

You can ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, and we will give it. You do not have to prove the software is faulty.

This policy is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and does not limit them. Our guarantee and your legal rights both apply. Those legal rights do not expire when the 14 days do.

How to ask

  1. Use the refund link in your Paddle receipt email, or email support@substrike.com.au (mailbox being set up) with the email address you bought with and your order number.
  2. We will ask Paddle, as merchant of record, to process the refund within 10 business days of your request. The money goes back to the payment method you used. Your bank or card provider may take extra days to show it.
  3. After a refund your licence for Substrike ends and we ask that you stop using it. We will deactivate your licence key so it can no longer be used to activate the Software on a new Device, and we ask you to stop using and uninstall any copy you have already activated.

You do not need to uninstall first, and you do not need to give a reason (though we would like to hear what went wrong).

Try before you buy

A seven-day full-feature trial that starts after your first successful export is planned for version 1.0 but is not built yet. We also encourage you to read the known limitations before you buy. In particular, Substrike will make mistakes on noisy or overlapping speech, and you should expect to review and correct some words.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

The Australian Consumer Law gives consumers automatic guarantees for goods and services, including digital products such as software. Those include that the software is of acceptable quality, is fit for a purpose you told us about, and matches how we described it. They apply whatever this policy says.

In general terms, as we understand it (the ACCC's website has the official explanation):

  • If there is a major problem with the software, you can choose a refund or a replacement.
  • If the problem is minor, we may be given a reasonable chance to fix it first.
  • These remedies are not limited to 14 days.
  • Changing your mind is not a legal ground for a refund. Our 14-day promise above is something we give you on top.

Nothing in this policy, in Substrike's licence agreement, or on our website excludes or limits those rights. If you live outside Australia, local consumer laws may give you additional rights, and we respect those too.

If you bought somewhere else

Substrike is not sold anywhere yet. If it is later sold through another store, that store's own refund rules and process will apply in addition to your legal rights and our 14-day promise above, and this page will say how we handle those purchases.

Updates, upgrades and "perpetual"

Your licence lets you keep using the version you bought. See the licence terms for what a perpetual licence for the 1.x major version includes, and for the optional paid upgrade to a future major version. Refunds for a later paid upgrade will be covered by whatever refund policy applies at the time we release that upgrade.

Chargebacks and disputes

If you have a problem, please email us before disputing a payment with your bank. We would rather fix it or refund you. This does not stop you disputing a payment.

Changes

We may change this policy for future purchases. The policy that applies to your purchase is the one shown when you bought.
